I am a Scientist in Genomics & Bioinformatics, Health Security at the New Zealand Institute for Public Health and Forensic Science (PHF Science).
My work sits between sequencing and action: I analyse bacterial genomes to resolve whether cases are linked, how antimicrobial resistance is moving, and what the evidence supports.
Projects connect hospital-generated nanopore sequencing with reference-laboratory context, comparative genomics, and clinical or infection-prevention interpretation.
I also develop research software when an analytical step needs explicit validation, uncertainty or reproducible provenance.
